WhatsApp has been facing criticism for the past several days due to its new privacy policy, due to which the instant messaging platform is also suffering a lot of damage. At the same time, the latest report has revealed that compared to the month of December, people had reduced the use of the payment feature of WhatsApp in January, due to which WhatsApp has suffered a huge loss in the UPI transaction. According to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NIII), in January, users had very rarely reduced payments through WhatsApp. However, in contrast, PhonePe topped the category. As per the NPCI report, PhonePe app has gained 41.21 percent share in the total market share in the race for UPI apps, with terms of transactional volume of all apps at 2.35074 billion. The strong position of the Walmart-owned app has made it difficult for Google Pay to reach the top, which is still in second place.

On the NPCI site Post According to the data, the UPI transaction made by WhatsApp has come down by 31 percent to 560,000 from 810,000 in December. Despite the loss in transaction volume, the Facebook-owned app saw a 22 percent increase in payment value to 36.44 crore in January. Whereas in the previous month it was allegedly 29.72 crores.

As we mentioned, PhonePe is at the top of this list, which received 968.72 million transactions in the month of January, worth Rs 1,91,973.77 crore. The transaction value on PhonePe app was 7.39 per cent at 902.03 million in December.

After PhonePe, Google Pay is the second in this list, under which 853.53 million transactions were made in January, worth 1,77,791.47 crore. Google Pay has seen a loss of 0.1 percent, which was 854.49 million in December, worth 176,199.33 crore.

Paytm Payments Bank is once again at the third position in this list, with a transaction of 281.18 million in January which was worth 33,909.50 crores. Talking about Amazon Pay, it has 46.30 million transactions, worth 4,044.38 crores.
