Trace every message of Whatsapp, India demands from Facebook
What is the suggestion of the Government of India? The Government of India has suggested a different type of tracking. There is no need to break end-to-end encryption. In this, the authorities want that Facebook Tag every WhatsApp message so that the real sender of the message can be traced in case of any kind of crime. According to officials, the government is ready to work out a solution with Whatsapp. In this manner, the original sender can be detected without breaking the privacy of the users.
Facebook has refused to accept this demand as well. The company says that it does not have the technology that can track every message sent on whatsapp. Facebook is the largest market for WhatsApp in India. The app has 400 million (40 crore) active users in India. Millions of messages are sent every minute through this app and to adopt this method a unique tracer will have to be installed for each message. However, the government is still in talks with Facebook and the company has been given 3 months to find a solution. The Indian government believes that Facebook can trace messages without breaking encryption.
