Learn how it will work: As we told you, a shopping bag icon will appear in the videos. This icon will be on the bottom left of the video. Through this, users will be able to buy products. By clicking on this icon, users will be able to explore the product. Information on each product will be available on this page. YouTube has said that this project will be rolled out for some creators at the moment. It will currently be made available for iOS, Android and desktop users in the US.
The video shopping tab is the company’s third feature that will be introduced. Earlier, the company introduced a new page format in which users are now also given hashtags. Through this, users can search any hashtag and go directly to the video through them. Through them, videos can be kept on top.
Apart from this, a new feature was also introduced which was added with voice command support. A microphone has been given in the equivalent of YouTube’s search box, through which you will also be able to search videos through voice commands.
A Bloomberg report reported in October 2020 that YouTube asked creators to use software to tag and track products featured in the video. According to the report, this data will be linked to Google shopping tools and analytics.
According to the report, a YouTube spokesperson had confirmed that the feature is happening with a limited number of video channels and creators will control the products shown. Youtube’s new testing seems to be an extension of that idea. It is also possible that YouTube may rollout this feature for more users in the coming time.
